Originally from Indiana, the famous Texas bumper sticker seemed to say it all for me . . .

“I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could”

As a young girl age nine I was building my own home within the home my parents provided myself, and my eleven siblings. That’s right, the 12 of us.  Not much privacy and having to share everything, I always wanted my own room.  To create that sense of privacy, I would stack dressers to build walls to create a bedroom. My mom would indulge me by buying little lamps and throw pillows to define “my space”.  But the most important items were a record player, a note pad and a yellow and black round smiley face throw rug where I would sit, sing and draw floor plans!  Decorating and building homes was already pumping through my veins.

I grew up, got married and my husband Stephen and I began buying the cheapest house we could afford in the best neighborhood so that we could use the equity to purchase a larger home with every baby!  Together we gutted, we learned and re-built and I guess you could say we flipped our way to the next step of our lives. It was the 3rd house we had demo’d and re-built nearly to completion when Stephen took the job that would change our lives forever!

Like it was yesterday, I remember that big moving truck filled with 35 years of my life, my husband, my 3 daughters and I saying goodbye to my 11 siblings, my in-laws and to the huge white house in Malden.  All of that hard work and then . . . . TEXAS happened!  Gone were the days of walking through the “Windy City” of Chicago to get to work, gone were the snow boots and the Parka jacket for 8 below weather!  It was October in Texas and come November, folks looked at us “Hoosiers” a bit funny, as we wore our T-shirts, shorts and sandals near Thanksgiving!  Lawd it was hot!!!!

Upon arriving in Texas, my life has been fabulous. I have worked in the real estate industry for many years selling homes for builders like Grand, Ryland and Standard Pacific Homes.  It was there I learned how builders build, how to negotiate and when to buy.  I gained a lot of knowledge from my days as a sales counselor and quickly discovered it was time to get my Real Estate license.

Loving life as a Realtor, I built a business and reputation on successfully guiding families  purchasing a builder inventory home, brand new builds/custom homes, home leases and apartment rentals.  I have utilized my experience in flipping homes, staging homes, and design to educate and help families see the diamond in the rough.  I strive to give my clients confidence in their home buying and selling process as well as spend time helping and teaching them how to get top dollar when selling.

Many already know my true character; my work ethic, my passions and that I love real estate. My family, friends, and clients know first hand that I am a “Doer”, a hard and conscientious worker, and most importantly, that I am a person of integrity!  I’ve combined my passion for home décor, photography, nesting, glittery things and helping others, into the perfect career of bringing families joy.

I would love the opportunity to help your friends and family discuss the possibilities of any and all real estate needs. If you are considering selling your home, downsizing, or just want to exchange one dream home for another, I’m excited to help. When looking for a realtor whose ethics, experience and character you can depend on, I hope you call me. My education and knowledge, combined with the expertise of our team, is certain to deliver you a wonderful journey.  Let Living Elysium help you find your . . .
